Countercycles

More about 2009. The earlier article is more fundamental, but the energies we describe here are sorta the other side of the same coin.

This article is a lot more complex, and has a lot more loose ends – which actually echoes the subject we’re considering. Let’s give it a try, and see if it works. At least it might trigger questions, which would be a good thing.

By the end of the article, we hope you’ll understand more clearly why confusion is good. When we encounter information that doesn’t fit into our closet-full of little black boxes, our first reaction is confusion. Without confusion, there is no learning, no growth. Turns out that’s the bottom line of this article, that we need to welcome confusion. In healthy quantities. No sense overwhelming ourself, we’ll just backlash ourself and end up more contracted than when we started.

Here’s the summary…

1. Power is afoot at Beginnings. By attending to positive intentions – and dealing responsibly with any negative material that arises – at Beginnings, we can steer an entire cycle into directions we prefer. A cycle begins at conjunction, and the corresponding countercycle begins at opposition.

2. A Saturn-Uranus countercycle is beginning now.

3. A cycle inevitably accumulates emotional baggage, in addition to the genuine learning that occurs. Part of the countercycle process involves releasing this emotional baggage, because it inhibits both the scope of our learning, and the freedom with which we can open to the next cycle.

4. So while over the last twenty years we’ve learned a great deal about Accepting Grace, we’ve also accumulated and reinforced limitations to Accepting Grace. We are also now beginning a new 30-year cycle about Accepting Miracles. The current countercycle gives us power to release more limits to Accepting Grace.

5. This countercycle itself is about receiving wisdom.

And the gory detail…

1. Beginnings are critical, because beginnings are when power is afoot most profoundly. The energy of Beginning is malleable, so Beginnings are unique opportunities for us to add our own energy signature to the unfolding cosmic soup – for better or worse. Beginnings are the time when our unconscious negativity has the greatest malefic influence, and when our conscious intentions can have the greatest benefic influence – assuming we’re dealing with our unconscious negativity effectively.

The countercycle begins at the opposition and fruits at the conjunction, so the Saturn-Uranus countercycle is beginning now, at the end of 2008. The impact of any countercycle is on the invisible side of the spectrum – the conjunction-to-opposition phase of a cycle manifests energy into form, while the opposition-to-conjunction countercycle recycles pattern into potential, form into relative formlessness. If you aren’t familiar with the term, potential is energy that hasn’t manifested yet. It’s not like the countercycle puts it back the way it was before the conjunction-to-opposition cycle began, because there is always growth and change, no cycle is like the previous.

We can, and will, write at length about Beginnings, about living exponentially, which we can do by using conjunctions and oppositions to focus our intentions – carefully, of course. Remember what they used to say about being “careful what you ask for, because you just might get it”? But here, let’s focus on the opportunity at hand.

2. So what is this particular Saturn-Uranus countercycle about? Which is to say, where is it that we have the greatest potential influence this year? It’s a bit bigger than that, because the countercycle lasts twenty years too, so we don’t just shift direction for the moment by focusing on what-we-want rather than our habitual what-we-don’t-want, we bend the trajectory for the whole next twenty years and beyond! This is what we mean by living exponentially – we’re upping the ante here in a major way.

We should be introducing these ideas on some nice short one-month-long Mooncycles or the like, but Saturn-Uranus is what’s available to us at the moment, and actually, since what we focus our attention upon now will haunt or bless us for twenty years and more, there’s actually no better time. Besides, we’re also inna middle of the Beginning of an even bigger thirty-year cycle (that we’ll talk more about soon), so we gotta get our cheeks in gear and start practicing!

So, as we’ve said, we can think of a Saturn-Uranus conjunction as Saturn-Ego taking its Saturn-bucket to the Uranus-Well of the Uranus-Individual-Soul to get a refreshing drink and to get its marching orders for the next two decades. In linear time, Destiny is what has happened. It’s not what’s about to happen. The latter is up to “us” – it’s just that “us” includes the Unconscious, and the Unconscious includes our “karma,” which is everything we haven’t decided yet that we believe we can change.

So however you experienced the Harmonic Convergence, and whatever you been doing since, is just your Soul’s marching orders. Being in the past when seen from our current position, it’s perfect. Those were exactly the experiences you needed to create the body memories that will perfectly serve your future.

3. Sure, they come with emotional baggage, how could they not. And that has to be dealt with responsibly. Okay, we could go on at great length about how Responsibility differs from Blame (http://www.jbuss.com/jbl3/outside903.htm goes into it a little), but we’re probably better off just linking to someplace like http://eft-revealed.com/blog/. So that brings us to one fundamental aspect of the countercycle – it’s about releasing patterns.

Emotional baggage is just a pattern, a habit, a set of frequencies that ossified. Liberating ossified frequencies is one of the most fantastic things we can do for ourself – and for the Planet! Ossified frequencies keep us from effortlessly pulling energy from the Void, limit our spontaneity (Saturn), and restrict our access to our intuition (Uranus) – and our response to it.

The essence of any countercycle is getting free, opening up, eliminating expectation, getting ready, able, and willing to open to the energy of the next cycle without preconception. Of course that seldom manifests completely, but that’s the process, and the more of the process we embrace, the more open we are for the energies to come.

4. So one viewpoint is to ask what patterns we’ve built up over the last twenty years around Accepting Grace. Or rather, the real issue, what limits have we accepted over the last twenty years around Grace. The thirty-year cycle that we mentioned earlier, which is Beginning in 2008-2010 or so, is about stretching the edge between Despair and Miracle. We’ll talk more about that later, but for now we want to remind that the worst side of Despair is the Despair that we accept without knowing that it’s Despair – it’s just I can’t. When we feel the emotional side of Despair, at least we have an opportunity to recognize it and take steps to release it.

When we just believe that I can’t and never step outside of the belief enough to question it, we’re truly trapped in Despair. Over the next few years we have the opportunity to receive vast quantities of Grace around Allowing Miracles. And better yet, we have the opportunity to live it exponentially and bend the trajectory of our own Destiny and that of the Planet, into more favorable directions for the next thirty years. We’ll talk a lot about this Chiron-Neptune conjunction soon. For now suffice it to say that this energy is available to multiply our power to release limits around Accepting Grace.

5. This particular Saturn-Uranus countercycle reinforces a theme that’s prominent in many ways in these “End Times” – the resurrection of Community, and a renewal of respect for Eldership. We’ve always said that in times of rapid change, such as the last century or so, the conventional wisdom doesn’t work so good. The Contrary is often more effective.

When Change becomes the Whirlwind, however, the calm Center again beckons to us. Time to reread Autobiography of a Yogi and Play of Consciousness. Time to move into the Timeless. Just make sure you take suggestions from Elders, not orders. The rules are even more different in the Whirlwind, and it’s still you that’s ultimately responsible for your co-creations.

This Eldership business takes the form of Shaktipat. Remember what that is? It’s when the Guru taps you on the shoulder or symbolically regurgitates into your Aura, to transmit to you on far dimensions the True Wisdom of his or her tradition. While the conjunction-to-opposition portion of this Saturn-Uranus cycle was about Accepting Grace, the opposition-to-conjunction portion of this countercycle is about Receiving Wisdom – opening to channel. The most important wisdom we can convey about that is Both/And. It’s never Either/Or – it’s always Both/And. Contradictions exist in the mental mind, not in extant Reality.

When we encounter a Reality that differs in some significant way from our own habituated Reality, we react. Our Skeptic lights up the mindbone. Our Bullshit Detector fires off any number of emotions. Our Mythology, arms akimbo, gets all defensive. Our brow furrows, out tummy tightens. We don’t know whether to tell it to scram or try to heal it, this poor misguided soul. Letter-to-Editor time, compulsive blog-comment time.

Beyond Gratitude and Grace, that’s our second assignment, to begin to shift our bottom-line attitude toward resistance to the unfamiliar. Our Skeptic is healthy, but we want to look to him or her for information, not for judgment. Our Bullshit Detector is fabulously useful, but we want to respond lightly to his/her inputs. Our Mythology is not complete, it has room for questions that remain unanswered, it has room to learn new possibilities, room to grow. Our physical reactions to new Realities become curiosities, not commands to react or judge or instruct or disdain. Growing ourself without giving ourself up.
